6-5, Physical Science Questions 27 and 30

Qn. 27 (a) He should hang the 4 magnets from the same distance from the tray (1/2m) and then count the number of pins attracted to the magnets. (1/2m) (b) Observation 1 - More pins would be attracted to Magnet x. Observation 2 - MAgnet X can attract the same number of pins as Magnet A from a further distance from the tray. Qn 28 - P5 SA2 Question (2012) Qn. 29 (we've done this question a thousand times) (a) Q. Q is able to reflect light from the furthest distance. (b) By using the sensor, data collected would be more accurate as results would not just be subjected to what Zainal thinks the amount of light that is reflected. Qn. 30 (a) potential energy converted to kinetic energy converted to electrical energy (b) Advantage - to be able to generate greater amount of electricity Explanation - The water would possess greater amount of g.p.e which would then be converted to greater amount of k.e, which would then be converted to greater amount of electrical energy.

P6-4 Answers to PSLE Booklet, Pages 71 - 32 Qn. 30 (a) Benefit 1 - WHen Plant A photosynthesised in the presence of light, it would produce oxygen for Animal D to respire. Benefit 2 - When population A increases, population B also increases. Animal E feeds more on B than Animal D. Pupulation D would also increase. 30 (b) Effect on Plant A - Population would decrease at first and then increase over time. There would theb be an increase in the number of Animal B at first, increasing the number of Plant A being fed on. Over time, more of Animal B would be fed on by E, leading to an increase in population of Plant A. Effect on Animal D - Population D would increase at first and then decrease. At first, E would have a lot more of B to feed on. Over time, B starts declining, and E would then feed more on D. 31 (a) Compare set-up A with set-up C Compare set-up B with set-up D 31 (b) Benefit 1 - WHen leaves tilt upwards, plant will have a lower temperature. Benefit 2 - When tilt upwards, the leaves would absorb lesser amount of heat, leading to lesser loss of water through its stomata in the process of transpiration. 31 (c) With the white leaves at the upper part of the stem, the plant would be able to absorb lesser amount of heat and therefore, reduce the amount of water loss from its system. 32 (a) The water plants are better able to photosynthesise under red and blue light, producing more oxygen for the fishes. Therefore, the fishes travelled to K and M only. 32 (b) Red and blue coloured lights could be used for photosynthesis. 32 (c) An equal number of fishes can be found in the three sections.
